A Book In Hand Community Outreach Program

Now that we've gotten our bearings a bit, we're ready to start working on some community outreach programs - specifically getting books into the hands of folks who might not otherwise have the means or access.

Feel free to drop off any gently used books you might have lying around your house and we'll make sure that they get to the right agencies, organizations, schools, and individuals.

The more that you read,
the more things you will know.
The more that you learn,
the more places you'll go.

-Dr. Seuss

Please contact us at (303) 433-3439 if you're interested in receiving books for your organization.

A Beautiful Sunday In Berkeley Park

What a difference a couple of days make! After the recent snow and rain, we're happy to be able to open the front door of The Nook and let the fresh spring air (and a few cookie-hungry dogs) in - ahhh...

Lots of books coming in this week and, for those of you jonesing for Pride, Prejudice and Zombies, take heart! The publisher is running a re-print on April 21 so it won't be long until we receive our shipment and you can get your "ultraviolent zombie mayhem" on.

As some of you may have already seen, we sent out our first email, The Nook News, on Saturday. Be sure to sign up (over there <- to the left <- in the red column) for updates and event info. Don't worry - we won't sell or share your contact information because, frankly, that's just not cool. Read any good books lately? We want to hear about it! We can't read everything in the shop - as much as we'd like to - so feel free to share! I finished The Help a week or so ago and thought it was a great read. We've sold out of it a couple of times already but more copies are on the way this week.

I'm just getting into A Reliable Wife - it's supposed to be quite delicious! I'm also reading Julie Andrews' memoir, Home, and The Paris Review Interviews, Volume III. Jean Rhys (one of my favorite authors) is featured in this third collection of interviews, so I'm in heaven.

Well - the day has slipped quickly by and it's already just about time to close up for the day.

Hope everyone's having a fabulous Sunday

Shannon

Welcome to The Bookery Nook

We're starting to fill out the website, so please take a look around. We have some events listed already. View "our story" to see how we transformed a bike shop into a bookshop.

And don't forget to sign up for our mailing list (see the bottom of the red column on the left).
