Cheese!

Grand Opening Day at The Nook...

Our nephew, Josh, and great-nephew, Jack...

By the end of the day, we'd collected more than 500 books for The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless...

See the dog with the pink hat? That's Tucker - a regular at The Nook...

City Auditor, Dennis Gallagher, holding court...

Randle Loeb, guest speaker and Coalition Advisory Board member...

My angels (in the very back and mostly hidden)...

The ceremony begins...

Joking that it might take more than a couple snips to get through the organza...

And it did (take more than a couple snips, that is)...

Almost there...

Gary and I with Andre Pettigrew and Dennis Gallagher...

Andy Ard entertained our ears...

Portia the Clown....

...made balloon creations... (Cutie patootie, Shelby in her original Portia creation)

...and painted faces...

Free chair massages courtesy of our friends at Holistic Bodyworks...

Betty doing a great job sharing information about Denver businesses...

Jack beat Shelby down and stole her balloon hat....

And then the real fun began...

Thanks to Josh for taking for being our official photog (great job, man!) and to all our friends and family and members of the community who came out to help us celebrate our big day!

Gary and Shannon Piserchio, Andre Pettigrew (Executive Director for the Office of Economic Development), and Dennis Gallagher (Auditor, City and County of Denver)

Special thanks to Andre Pettigrew for officiating our ribbon-cutting ceremony and to Dennis Gallagher for sharing some wonderful history about this fabulous little building on the corner of 43rd and Tennyson. Not pictured - but of equal importance - is Randle Loeb, a board member for The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, who spoke poignantly on behalf of CCH.

GRAND OPENING - GRAND SUCCESS

Whether you were there in person or in spirit, thank you for helping us celebrate our Grand Opening on Saturday, May 9!

Because of your generosity, over 500 books will be donated to The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless through our community outreach program, "A Book In Hand"!

Please keep this ongoing program in mind as you're pondering what to do with your gently-used books.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and a very Happy Mother's Day!

Shannon & Gary Piserchio
